Idk why the sexualization of women is still even a debate. Well actually I do- first off, its always painted as an “womans issue” so that everyone can hand wave it as female hysteria. The sexualization is an issue of shit character design. Hardly anyone would be complaining if the sexualization made sense with the characters personality and in the context of the story. The disconnect happens because people compulsively do it without thought. Think Sonya Blade from MK 9. She’s supposed to be in the military and the only hint is her dog tags.

Ok, I’ll buy that this character was in the military now. If you want a sex pot character, you’re going to have to put effort into the hows and whys like you’d have to put in the effort for any other character archetype. And thats the issue! People suddenly think they can stop putting in effort into character creation just because they make them sexy. Character creation is still an art form.
