Welp, Its The Last Day Of The Year…

Its New Years Eve and whats there to say except this year has been positively BATSHIT. Just the politics, abortion, war, that fuckin submarine, the push for electric vehicles in place of walkable cities, etc. Honestly, there were a lot of ups and downs. I made a lot of changes to the way I decided to do things and post my art. And speaking of which, I’m still not planning a full return to social media. I might check in every couple of weeks to see how my moots are doing but most social media is legit terrible and I don’t wanna post on there anymore. Its not helped by the musk making casual bigotry acceptable on the site. Yet another form of communication made unusable by the insistence that “free speech” be allowed.

But anyway, I moved out to internet nowhere mostly to escape the content grind. I just wanted to post whatever I wanted without worrying about a reaction. Really I still have to break out of that social media clout mentality but I feel like I’ve been able to draw a bit more ever since I got away. I’m def posting more of my original stuff, at least I’m happy to see my own ideas. Going forward, I would love to post more of my comics, maybe some lore, maybe some new ocs for the hell of it. I just wanna do fun stuff with my original ideas. I’ll do some fan stuff too, but its not going to be a priority.

We got some banger movies this year! Loved Barbie, FNAF was ok as a nostalgia thing, Saw X revitalized everyone’s Sawtism overnight and I’m looking forward the next one. I’m not really a big movie buff, the only thing I plan to see so far is Saw lol. On another note, Invincible is coming back in January. We’re going to check that out then depending on how we feel, we might drop amazon b/c pf the bullshit ads. No comment on Hazbin Hotel I’ll be more surprised if it doesn’t turn out to be straight up bullshit based on the trailers and the leaks. Mlp gen 5 was a massive disappointment. Maybe I’ll explain why later.

Nostalgia seemed to be a big thing this year. Its been a rough couple of years for everyone, really. I remember 2020. That was the year I was going to try and get my shit together before everything went to hell. Now everything feels streamlined to efficiently siphon the life out of everyone with no benefit and it just feels like things would be better if you went back to the 2010’s when there were at least websites that were meant to be fun. Or maybe you were just more hopeful back then idk. Ether way, this mentality isn’t going to do much on its own. If you want things in your life to change, its not going to happen from scrolling twitter all day. You still have to… change something you’re doing…

That concludes my end of year rambling. 2023 brought some disappointments, some cool shit, but most of all it was kinda the year I sacked up and did more of what I intended to do back in 2020. Happy New Year, folks!
