No, it not that I think theres some shadowy cabal causing the dead internet theory. That’d be fucking stupid. Its def an end product of monetizing your internet posts. A combo of people wanting an easy way to make money and most real people being pushed off of posting content because the overall website algorithm is hostile af. I’m literally one less person posting real content on twitter, tumblr, deviantart, etc.
