And I’m tired of people pretending other wise. This is something thats irritated me for a while but I couldn’t put it into words until I saw a Resident Evil Retrospective that gave me some ideas. So the original RE was written by a total chicken. A lot of classic horror was written by people with actual fears. So when edge lords try to hop on the horror train thinking they will be good at it, it flops and flubs. Honestly a lot of people just try to make horror using subject matter that they themselves aren’t afraid of. And like, how are you going to project fear of manipulate the media to induce fear if you yourself don’t know what it would look like? You’ve desensitized yourself to the point where you don”t think it a big deal and it show in the writing. Unless you bring someone on whos more down to earth don’t try to pass this shit off as horror. I’m just tired of getting into something thinking its horror only to find some thinly veiled fetish someone thought they were being slick with. Honestly most of those people know what they’re doing and don’t care. This was more for the drooling morons defending it as “Its horror what do you expect”.
