I’m getting tired of people acting like people can’t handle disagreements solely because social media lets people block on sight. You know what? I think we put too much onus on people that block. Like we constantly blame blockers for not wanting to engage. Honestly, some people are complete shitheads that can’t be reasoned with. You can’t talk to them, they’ll mock you if you try to establish boundaries or stand up for yourself. And often this kind of behavior is encouraged. I say this as someone that will block on sight: I used to try to have a discussion years ago, but people are hellbent on thinking that they’re always correct, everything they do or say to others is fine no matter what and nothing should be challenged because your too sensitive/ theres a good reason your being treated this way. It gives the impression that the real issue isn’t the lack of discussion, but that they can’t act as shitty as they want and still be able to taunt and harass people around them.
