This episode was GREAT! We’re getting a feel for how this world functions (like a game program) and I feel like the meaning of life and consciousness is going to come into play later. Jax is a total HORSE ASS. I prefer to think that the candy kingdom de spawned as soon as they left b/c thats what games usually do to run smoothly and Digital Circus prob needs to save as much space as possible. I love how Pomni was worried about being forgotten if she ever abstracted. The funeral scene at the end at least showed her she’d be missed if it happened. I was a nice thing to see esp after how Jax was treating her the whole episode. Even if that version of the alligator is completely erased, Pom will remember him.

It sort of reminds me of a tumblr poll I saw a long time ago that asked if you thought anyone would notice if you abandoned your account and the general response was no. And its not like its an incorrect assessment, people go dark on their accounts all the time without anyone noticing. I pretty much abandoned my old social media and I legit don’t think anyone noticed. But what do we expect? We restructured our culture to de-empathize actual personal relationships and friendships.

Most interaction on social media doesn’t mean much because of how depersonalized everything is. You see the posts and are encouraged to scroll but most modern sites put less of a focus on the person that made the post. Like remember the old version of Deviantart where it felt more encouraged to look at an artist’s profile instead of just scrolling to the next post? I feel like we lost that?
