Read more Solo Leveling and

***As usual, spoilers ahead***

Well I read volumes 3 + 4 and… Its basically just Jinwoo level grinding and its about as amusing to watch as actually grinding in an rpg game. I can see why its necessary because we need to know how he suddenly became a necromancer, but its still a bit slow. He kills monsters and bosses and enslaves their souls, of course. But then he kills a human guy (in a dungeon) and enslaves his soul and its like– can he do that??? I guess he can. So, he is progressively getting more and more op and its like a pattern of people going “psh! Stay back, e-rank, or you’ll get killed! Holy shit how did you do that, e-rank!?! I’ve never seen such power!”. People do suspect that he is a higher rank and once the word gets out everyone wants to recruit him for their guilds.

Also that revenge plot they hinted at turned out to be pile of nothing in a funny way. Like he shows up, Jinwoo is trapped in a dungeon (that no one can leave in or out), he goes “drat” and flies back to America because he didn’t have that much time off. Its just- what if it took longer than an afternoon to find Jinwoo why did you even bother. Then he gets killed anyway.

And for whatever reason, they made an awkward joke where theres a misunderstanding that makes Jinwoo look like a diddler THEN they immediately put the obligatory yaoi bait guy in the friend zone on the next GD page. Just wtf. Also, Also they bring up Jinwoo’s dad who was Jumanji’d in a dungeon for I think a decade. I don’t think he was never mentioned up to this point and wasn’t an important figure to Jinwoo (he was mostly focused on his sick mom). He just shows up. Maybe I’ll see where this is going in the next book.
