I don’t know, people talk about lowering to rate of traffic related deaths but no one wants to actually change things to achieve it. Like the thought of just designing roads that encourage people to slow tf down or put up infrastructure that protects pedestrians at the expense of cars (like those giant metal bars that would pop up at cross walks) never crosses anyone’s mind. Instead everyone wants to put all the responsibility on drivers to not drive recklessly AND the only thing holding them accountable is literally the honor system. Gee, I wonder why the amount of deaths increased. Build. The Metal. Bars. Let people wreck their own cars if they wanna drive stupid or under the influence. City planners acting like you can trust the judgement of dipshits that may or may not be illiterate. I’m just tired of people dying to stupid preventable shit and no one doing anything about it.
