Saw Final Destination Bloodlines

**Mild Spoilers**

Honestly, its everything you’d expect from a Final Destination movie. And I mean it in a if-you-like-Final-Destination-you’ll-like-this way. It does shake up the formula by having the death loop start decades earlier and carry over to the children of the children of the people that were supposed to die. Interesting because the scrapped ending of the first film tried to have them escape death by having a baby and even back then it seemed too hokey. Good to see that if that actually happened both the parents and the baby would be marked for death.

So this time The Event is a whole crumbling building. The way it happens is completely ridiculous (a fucking penny) but thats why we’re all here. Theres a point where the main character predicts the chain of events that will kill someone, gets mocked for it sounding stupid, then it happens minutes later- and its one of the more painful looking deaths in the movie. The rules change in every movie but now death can get not just the people who were supposed to die/ not exist, but people that trying to help them cheat. It is funny how the movie tricked you into thinking that character was safe because he wasn’t blood related.

They did respectfully wrap things up for the late Tony Todd’s character, WB. I think it was a nice send off and nod while keeping true to the series. *EDIT* I actually didn’t know that was Tony Todd in the movie. It turns out he filmed one last scene for this film before he passed. He looked so different that I didn’t even recognize him. May he rest in peace.

Overall I’d say this film was a good time. Cool kills, and it explores the original premise in a way that wasn’t in previous FD movies. Of course the movie ends the same way they always end, its the journey that counts…. just like life……..
