I actually left the Snaccpop patreon a while ago due to lack of relevant content. I recently decided to check twitter for any noteworthy news. You know, to see if the patreon was worth rejoining n all.

Yeeeeeaaaaaa this game is never coming out. It aint happening. So theres a pretty long thread on twitter detailing some of the fuckery behind the scenes of this game and it sounds like its going to trapped in development hell forever. I would take the thread with a grain of salt b/c it is anonymous and they have misrepresented some events that happened and I only know that because I saw them happen live back then (like rewriting the unintentional sexual assault in the very first SDJ demo. No it wasn’t “bleaching” Jack’s character. They didn’t intend for it to be SA in the first place so they rewrote it. He also didn’t use “paranormal magic” he was just manipulative w praise/ pleasure). They mention that the recent demo doesn’t have that much progress added. Really I could’ve told you that- and I did tell you that when I wrote about the new demo like last year.

There were some spoilers about the game endings. They aren’t particularly detailed, so I don’t have much to say. Its just good end: characters are happy and improve bad end: everyone dies. A lot of claims about the devs fighting and arguing to the point where progress was completely hindered. There was that big setback from last year where they claimed the files for SDJ were stolen or held hostage. The thread claimed that it was a partial lie and they really lost progress b/c they fired a programmer who had access to the files and couldn’t contact them again. I did know that the SDJ fandom does have a harassment problem. The thread says that angry mobs were sent to anyone that bad talked the game. Thats a claim thats more up in the air until we see screenshots at least. I mean, fandoms just do that.

So there were the more serious allegations about the VA for SDJ grooming someone 12 yrs younger in the discord. Theres nothing backing this up outside of the thread itself. I don’t have a discord, so I’m not aware of any of that and to be frank I can’t do this again so I’m leaving it there until we hear something else.

So I could’ve told you this game isn’t happening just from the posts on the patreon. Apparently the money they raised for it wasn’t being used for SDJ (yea big surprise there). It just sucks b/c things were so hopeful around 2-3 years ago when I played the first demo.
