Alright so anyone following Love and Deepspace right now knows that we just got a WU story for each LI. Of course I b-lined for Xavier’s story (I’ll read the others I’m just sick rn ok) I will say there are some facts about Philos that we ether just learned about or are getting more details on.

First off, the wording makes it sound like Philosians can’t die period. Its not just that they don’t age, they actually can’t die even if they suffer from grave injuries- sounds like total HELL (also Xavie was BSing for sympathy in Feverish Attempts??). So the only way they can die is to sacrifice themselves to the forest. Well if you were wondering how they chose who to sacrifice, theres your answer… We do see this in the KoD myth where everyone is practically a respawning zombie, but that sounded like a late stage thing. I didn’t know that they couldn’t die this whole time

So another thing mentioned about Philos is that since everyone is immortal, no one appreciates life. There was a plot of an unnamed Philosian who time traveled back to Earth and fell in love with a human. It worked out until she started to look like his grandma. He was ok with it but she was really self-conscious until she didn’t want to be seen in public with him. I was legit wondering what would happen with Xavmc since she respawned pre Philos so we can assume she’ll have a regular lifespan? She’s also the cosmos so who knows. It was apparent long before this story that Xavier has an appreciation for the small things in life. He loves animal, has the patience to care for plants, has 20 degrees and even recorded the very first thing he heard when he stepped on Earth. He’s a prince/ king/ space captain/ cop/ super hero and still isn’t above simple things. I love this character ><
