Ok so we’re getting news the the 6th li was officially canceled and this was announced on the official account so its 100% real. They just out right canceled this character and will not be adding him to the game because of the insane backlash from the CN server. And apparently the backlash was batshit, well more like cow shit because people were shipping that to their office along with death threats and actual curses. Like what the fuck are we doing???? There were also people threatening to boycott the game but when have people ever followed through on those.

The more I hear about what happened the worse everything looks. This has to be the most miserable fandom I’ve ever seen. They’ll riot and freak out over the most innocuous things (like the lis not being totally dommy manly men all of the time). Everything has to be a gd calamity with this fandom and it’s always over the dumbest shit. I’m not even on twitter to keep up with it and it’s exhausting esp since the dumb shit they do there will affect the gameplay for everyone.

And I’m disappointed with infold as a company because there are legit complaints about this game that need to be addressed but they’d rather just remove an entire character that they certainly planned to be part of the roster. Like maybe they could post pone his debut while they improve the game but they don’t plan to improve anything anyway. I mean, Valko hasn’t even dropped yet and they released a rerun in the middle of a multi banner. Removing the 6th li isn’t gonna help with that and they will no doubt continue to do this in the future.

If they’re actually serious about removing him can they at least upload all of the cards/ voice lines/ home screen animations/ moment posts and texts to youtube or something? They might as fucking well.

Ok so I was watching videos on the situation to see if anyone knew anything new. And I saw a particularly weird comment under one of the videos

So this comment states that the writers made an offensive reference and the game and whole company got torn to shreds by the media. That and theres a ceo that was going to fuck the whole game up. Now this person could be lying about everything or they could’ve been lied to. It’s just a random comment so who knows if this means anything but this would be really really fucked up if true. Double because their post made it sound like the fans wanted this. I have heard some of the things the comment mentions like the game getting pained as bad for women in China. Once again we’re taking this with a BIG grain of salt.

Still this whole situation seems off. Like legal action wasn’t enough for them to fix KoD but something here got them spooked. If this comment isn’t bs that would mean the aggressive reaction wasn’t solely because of the 6th li being added to the game, not that those actions are justified. They would’ve pinned the blame on their own fandom when apparently it went further than that. I don’t know for sure we’re just marinating in ideas.

Another addition but this wouldn’t be the only time infold freaked out and pulled the plug when they got controversy. So years ago for Love Nikki they made a new server. I think it was for Korea? I don’t remember all the details but I saw people talking about it on tumblr. Within days there was a dispute of a style of kimono in the game that was labeled Chinese in its description when it wasn’t. The server was instantly shut down. Within days of it launching. My memory is fuzzy though.
