Alright so it’s been some days since the 6.0 update and I’ve heard some interesting information.

Apparently infold might actually be in hot water with the Chinese government? All I have to go off of are multiple random screen shots of unknown origin so I don’t really know. Let’s pretend this is definitely real: so tons of people in China reported this game to their government because a new character was being introduced and they think it will take away attention from the old ones. Then the government just automatically put the company on warning I guess? As far as I know no one’s bothered to see the full story before jumping to conclusions. There’s a clip of a supposed news anchor talking about Valko while playing clips that make it looked like he’s assaulting mc in the story. People have said it’s AI so take that with a grain of salt. I did call it a few posts ago when I said the concern trolling about Valko wasn’t sincere and it was just people getting offended at his character even though we barely know anything yet.

Now let’s get to the tin foil

So when Val was first announced I heard there was a little offense from CN players about a rumor that he and mc would sleep together as soon as they met. Even in the screen shot it looked like just a couple of people and completely un-noteworthy. So from there the blow back completely snow balled. I looked at the twitter page to see the trailer for myself and the reaction and it was baaaaaad. Even then, I was thinking ya’ll just gonna be thirsting after him in a few months anyway just like Sylus and Caleb. If only I knew how BAD it was going to get gd lmao.

So anyway I think that this whole thing could’ve been started because some “traditional” women got offended at the mere possibility that this game could present a story where the mc sleeps with a guy early into meeting him. They would probably be laughed out of town if they complained about that so they made up some pseudo feminist nonsense (I saw some people trying to blame feminist and like are the feminists in the room w us?). And apparently this game is thought of as a cultural export so they could also have to watch how they depict Chinese people and culture to the world. This is speculation based on screen shots I see circulating on tumblr and Twitter, there’s no way to tell what’s actually happening. Depending on where you look there’s people that think this was a smear campaign started by the company behind Silent Whispers (another game I might post about later).

So yea this is a giant cluster fuck. I check the game and they just dropped all of Valkos poses and mc outfits in the game unceremoniously. It’s clear they were made for him too it’s so sad man.

The outlook on Valko getting released as a full character? In my opinion not so good. It’s been near radio silence from infold/PG from multiple platforms across the world (the pinned post on Twitter is for an event from almost a month ago atp). People are boycotting like crazy and overall just deleting because they’re done with this game. Hell I’ve lost some enthusiasm. This has done a fuck ton of damage to this game and it might not recover. Infold has dropped some job ads for various positions for a new AAA game. Are they expecting lads to go eos and have already moved on? It would be pretty sad if that happened but I already told myself that I’m not playing another game from this company after lads no matter how good it starts as. Idk if I can take this the constant drama and weird shit anymore.
